Self-Storage Facilities, AI Unit-Size Matcher & Booking Tool
Turns a photo (or quick checklist) of what a customer needs to store into the right unit size, live availability, and an instant booking, instead of a phone guess that ends in an upsize hassle or a resentful over-payer.
This blueprint is free. Copy the master prompt below, build it with your own time, and the only outlay is a few low-cost tool subscriptions. Use it inside your own business, or sell it to clients. The numbers further down are what you can charge, not what you pay.

The Storage Unit That Was Always Too Big or Too Small
Read the articleWho you sell it to
Independent and small-chain self-storage operators (1-5 locations, not the national REITs like Public Storage or Extra Space who build this in-house) still sizing renters over the phone or off a static chart on their website. Find them via Google Maps searches for "self storage" plus city, state Self Storage Association chapter directories, or cold outreach to owner-operators. A good fit is any facility whose staff spend real time on "what size do I need" calls.
If you sell it, here is the money picture:
The first tile is the value of your client's own jobs, which is the reason they will pay you. The other two tiles are what you charge them.
How it works
A prospective renter lands on the facility's booking page and either uploads 2-6 photos of what they need to store or works through a quick room-by-room checklist if they'd rather not upload photos. The AI (vision model for photos, a reference lookup for the checklist) estimates total cubic footage, adds a sizing buffer so nobody ends up half an inch short, and recommends the smallest unit that actually fits, often smaller than what a phone rep would suggest to be safe. It checks that size against the facility's real unit availability and price, and if anything in the inventory is climate-sensitive (electronics, wood furniture, documents, instruments) it flags a climate-controlled upgrade as a recommendation, not a forced upsell.
The renter books a specific unit and move-in date on the spot, gets a confirmation text, a reminder the day before move-in with their gate code, and one check-in text 60 days later asking if the space still fits, which is the mechanism that catches a renter about to quietly cancel over a too-big unit or leave a bad review over a too-small one.
What to expect
Phone and desk time spent on sizing questions drops close to zero for the renters who self-serve, which becomes the majority once the tool is visible on the booking page. Expect noticeably fewer "this doesn't fit" calls in the first week of a new rental, since the buffer catches what a rushed phone recommendation often misses. The 60-day check-in is the slowest-paying piece and the one that matters most long-term: storage churn is often silent, a renter overpaying for a unit too big for their stuff cancels the whole account instead of asking to downsize, and this catches that before it happens.
It won't replace a staffed desk. A real share of renters, especially first-time storage users, still want to talk to a person, and the tool works best positioned as the fast option for people who'd rather not.
